Save on the Best in High Efficiency
Indoor Comfort.

If you’ve been thinking about replacing your home heating or central air conditioning system, your timing couldn’t be better.

That’s because the U.S. government has extended its Energy Star tax credit program on new or replacement home heating and cooling equipment.

The new tax credits are as follows:

  • Geothermal heat pump combined home heating and cooling system -30% credit on the full cost of the installed system…that makes a heat pump a “must” on your home comfort system shopping list.
  • Air source heat pump - 10% credit up to a maximum of $300.
  • Central air conditioning -10% credit up to a maximum credit of $300.
  • Home heating system (boilers plus gas and oil furnaces) - 10% credit up to a maximum of $150.

Remember:  your heat pump tax credit is limited only by the total amount of your installed system…whatever that amount is, you’ll earn a 30% credit.

When it comes to the credits central air, air source heat pumps, and home heating systems, the total combined credit you can earn is $500.  Other qualifications apply.

Con-Ed Rebate Program

Now, you can also earn up to a $600 rebate from Con-Ed on the purchase of an installed ductless air or heat pump system for your home.  Frank & Lindy is a participating Con-Ed installer

Save on Tankless and Solar Water Heaters, Too.

How serious is the federal government on rewarding homeowners who help your community and the country go green?  VERY serious.

Which is why there are also big tax credits available on the purchase of tankless and solar water heaters...bigger and more inclusive than those available for heating and cooling equipment.

  • Earn a 30% tax credit (up to $1,500) on ANY Energy Star certified tankless water heater system.  Click here to read more and watch a video on the value and operation of a tankless system.
  • Or, purchase a back-up solar water heating system and your tax credit will equal 30% of the entire purchase…including installation.

The Case for Solar Water Heaters

According to mechanical engineers at the University of Wisconsin’s Solar Energy Laboratory, an average four-person household with an electric water heater needs about 6,400 kilowatt hours of electricity per year to heat their water. Assuming the electricity is generated by a typical power plant with an efficiency of around 30 percent, it means that the average electric water heater is responsible for about eight tons of carbon dioxide (CO2) annually, which is almost double that emitted by a typical modern automobile.

Surprising as it may seem, analysts believe that the annual total CO2 produced by residential water heaters throughout North America is roughly equal to that produced by all of the cars and light trucks driving around the continent.

On the bright side:  if half of all households used solar water heaters, the reduction in CO2 emissions would be the same as doubling the fuel-efficiency of all cars.

Here’s what you can expect from a solar water heater:

  • In gas or energy savings alone, your system will pay for itself within 4-8 years.
  • With system life expectancies ranging between 15 and 40 years, your solar system will run for years and years at what amounts to a zero energy cost…the same as having FREE hot water.

And all of that on top of the current 30% tax credit.
